Keeping Long Hair Healthy

Long hair can be so difficult to maintain!!  Especially if it's thin and fine like mine, and you live in a place with very hard water.  Tangles for days around here...

That same small town that offers me hard water and tangles also lacks a great salon with pampering treatments  ;).  So I'm reduced to the Wal-Mart hair aisle and a lot of trial and error to take care of my  locks.

But in my quest, I did find some products that have treated me well, and I just wanted to share!

Pantene might not be a brand with organic ingredients, but this particular formula REALLY does the trick.  Repair & Protect is great for keeping my hair healthy and smooth.  I wash my hair about every other day; I wash with shampoo and leave the conditioner in for a couple minutes (start at the bottom, work your way up, don't use conditioner on the roots) before rinsing.

Then I comb out my hair with a wide-tooth comb, starting at the bottom and working my way up, and use THIS BRUSH to really seal the deal.  EcoTools is the brand; my daughter calls it a "magic brush".  I use it on their hair too to detangle and it works so well I actually agree with my daughter's words.

This regimen is your basic "small town" special and seriously works.  What are some of your favorite tools for long hair maintenance?
